Or at least the best snow or living memory. Or it could be worst depending on your point of view.
If like me you cycled into work today and walked home (cycling occasionally on the major roads that weren`t busy) it would have been fun. Had you been one of the many, many people sat in a car going nowhere or sliding sideways down the slightest of hills, then it probably wan`t much fun at all.
The snow started coming down at lunchtime and before it got too bad tit took 20 minutes to drive 1/2 a mile back from Asda (I`d got a lift with someone - in retrospect I should have walked). By the time home time came about 3 inches of snow had fallen. Several people who had attempted to go home early had returned as they just couldn`t get anywhere and there were plenty of reports of people getting stuck and roads just not moving at all.
On my walk home I helped push several cars up hills and there were plenty of other people resorting to walking, probably because they had no choice as the buses were no longer running.
And then, because the walk home had been quite enjoyable, I popped out again for a nice walk down to Morrisons and Pets at Home for a bit of Christmas shopping! In my 75 minute round trip I`m sure the gridlocked traffic only moved a few hundred yards. Any cars attempting to get up the hill on my road failed and were coming to a stop just outside my house and sliding back down again (I am ready with my camera to catch anyone who takes put my garden wall). Plus the local chavs were out throwing snowballs at cars just to make life even more interesting (several drivers were NOT happy at at all judging by the slanging matches a physical confrontations going in).
Maybe it`s time to go and build a snowman...
